The most fun on a Thursday night is playing some casual chess games! Join us on Thursday nights from 7:00 - 9:00 pm for non-rated casual games of any time control. We meet at CSI 300 North Broadway Nyack NY 10960 on Thursday nights from 7:00 - 9:00 pm.

Our Roots
The Rockland County Chess Club is driven by a single goal; to bring the joy of chess to our community. We strive to build a community of players of all strengths and ages who are interested in learning and playing. Our club offers both serious rated tournament games (see our calendar) and casual games.

Welcome to Rockland County Chess Club!
So you've contacted the Rockland County Chess Club and probably want to join and play some chess. Here is a little introduction FAQ to the going on of the club.
HOW DO I JOIN?
Simple. Just show up to one of our club meetings and register with Alex. To join we currently require vaccination proof and masking indoors.
WHERE DOES THE CLUB MEET?
We meet at CSI which is located at 300 North Broadway Nyack, NY on Thursday nights from 7 pm to 9:30 pm.
ARE THERE MEMBERSHIP DUES?
Currently there is a membership fee to join the club. Membership is $40/year and as a member you get a few benefits:
Reduced fees for any event or tournament we are hosting
Participation in the weekly game study
Having a great community to play games with every Thursday
ARE THERE STILL COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS?
Yes. Our members currently have to be vaccinated and wear a mask in the building. We ask that they bring a vaccination card or email a copy to info@rocklandchess.org when they join. These protocols are for the safety of our club members and our community.
CURRENT ACTIVITIES AND PLAYING CHESS
We host a few activities during the week for members.
Thursday nights at 7pm we host a chess study at CSI where we discuss the positional play, tactic and beauty of a historic game.
Thursday nights at 7pm we also host either tournament games or casual play.

WHAT YOU CAN BRING TO THE CLUB
Whenever you can - bring a friend!! Please spread the word and don't keep us a secret.
We provide chess sets and chess clocks - but if you have a favorite set that you like to play on please bring it.
